Ancient Crossroads
We'll visit all the Turkish cities of Paul's first missionary journey: Antioch, Tarsus, Perga, Derbe, Lystra and Iconium (the last three are Galatian cities). Peter addressed his letters to Christians in Cappadocia. We will spend a full day at the Hittite sites of Bogazkale and Yazilikaya.
Istanbul
Things not done in 2012: High tea at the Pera Palace, the Topkapi Palace harem, Spice bazaar & the Dolmabahce Palace. Our time is short. Hopefully I'll add to my previous experiences in this fascinating city that spans two continents (Europe & Asia).
Bucket List Items
No pun intended. Ballooning at sunrise through Cappadocian fairy chimneys. Visit an underground city (Kaymakli or Derinkuyu). Stay in a cave hotel.
